Videos

I created these videos in June and July of 2010 as a birthday present for my mother and wanted to present them here. Most of the family photographs used in these videos were taken by my grandfather and captured on 35mm color slides which I scanned and set to music. I hope you enjoy them.

Major McCarty

This is a very short video composed of military photographs of my grandfather who served in the United States Air Force during World War II and Korea. He retired from the Air Force in the 1960s at the rank of Major – which was his nickname thereafter to friends and family. He was a wonderful grandfather and one of the greatest men I ever knew. The audio track is “The Air Force Song” performed by the US Air Force Tactical Air Command Band.

Porter and Wanda

This is a short video composed of photographs of my grandparents during their life together. They were married for almost 60 years and are now newlyweds bound for eternity. The first audio track is Jo Stafford singing “You Belong to Me” and the second audio track is Norah Jones singing “The Nearness of You.”

Christmas Memories

This is a video composed of family photographs taken during the Christmas holidays from the 1940s to the 1980s. I can’t believe how blessed I am to have been born into such a wonderful and loving family. The audio track is Steven Curtis Chapman singing “Silent Night Medley” which includes Silent Night, Away In The Manger and O Holy Night.

This Time Together

This is a short video composed of family photographs taken from the the early 1950s to the late 1990s. The last picture is of my brother, my mother and me, and it was taken in 2008. The audio track is the fabulous Carol Burnett singing “I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together” from the series finale of “The Carol Burnett Show” in 1978.
